American College of Trial Lawyers
Gordon L. James was inducted in Washington D.C. in 2010 as a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers at its annual Fall Meeting. ACTL is dedicated to improving and elevating the standards of trial practice, the administration of justice and the ethics of the trial branch of the legal profession. Fellowship is extended by invitation only, after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of trial advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality. Fellows participate in a wide range of trial advocacy training programs, law student mock trial and appellate moot court competitions, legal exchanges between the judicial bench and bar in the US, Canada, and Great Britain, and preparation of codes of conduct. ACTL has also established awards to recognize examples of courageous advocacy and significant contributions to improvement of the litigation process.
