Charles Herold was born in Natchez, Mississippi, in 1961. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1983. While at ULM, Charles was a member of the basketball team. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi Law School in 1985. He was a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law fraternity and served as law school treasurer.
Upon graduation, Charles moved to Monroe and began practicing with Hudson, Potts, and Bernstein, LLP, where has has continuously practiced for 30 years. Charles is a Senior Partner in the firm.
Charles is admitted to practice before all Louisiana State courts, the Federal Western and Middle Districts of Louisiana, the Federal Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
Charles is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and serves as an assistant bar examiner. He is also a member of the Fourth Judicial District Bar Association, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, and past member of Defense Research Institute and Fred J. Fudickar American Inn of Court.
Charles has attended the Goldstein School of Trial Advocacy in Chicago, Illinois; the Hastings School of Law Trial Academy in San Francisco, California; and the International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy in Boulder, Colorado. He has also attended seminar for General Motors in Detroit, Michigan.
Charles is active in his community and church and has served on numerous boards and committees. Charles has served on the boards of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame, ULM Faculty Athletic Committee, and ULM Athletic Foundation, and the Monroe Youth Baseball Association. Charles is also an elder in his church and an avid outdoorsman. He is married to Susan Wolff Herold, and they have three children, Michelle, Natolie, and Charlie.
